Please excuse the spelling mistakes in my previous post. I ran the blog spell check and it didn't find any mistakes! That's technology for you!

I also forgot to post pictures of the chillis I grew last summer! I'm so proud! we also grew capsicums, spring onions, tomatoes, lettuce and flat leaf parsley! The basil I attempted to sew from seed only produced one plant and I sewed my strawberries too late - I got lovely plants but no fruit :(

Anyhow I dried the chillies because I had so many fresh ones I didn't have the capacity to cook with them all. I dried them by leaving them on a baking tray by the lounge room window in the sun. They took about 2 months to dry. I have heard the best way is to place them on a dish above or near a hot water cylinder but ours in concealed behind a brick wall so I didn't have that option!

Here they are...

My new treasures...

I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks but have been so busy with experiments at uni and now this week have been sick as well! Anyway before I head home to bed (must admit am now feeling slightly better than I did 6 days ago - paracetomol is my friend!) I though I would take the time to update you all on my ever growing stash of sewing goodies..

To start with here are my new purse patterns. When I will ever get a chance to make any of them remains to be seen, however, I have traced the pattern for the Amy Butler Madison Bags so that is a start. The patterns consist of aforementiond Madison Bags, and also from Amy Butler the new Frenchy Bag pattern plus 3 patterns from Melly & Me which look really cute. I have had a look at all the patterns and instructions and am happy to say the Amy Butler ones have pictorial instructions but the Melly & Me patterns only have written instructions. No diagrams....yikes!!!!

Next splurge are the following books - Sew U by Wendy Mullin (she of Built By Wendy patterns for Simplicity fame) which I have read cover to cover already! Seems really well put together and teh bonus of three patterns with the book (a skirt, pants and a shirt) is awesome! The other book which is equally fab is Sew What! Skirts which goes through making skirts by drafting your own pattern. As this has been a skill I have always wanted to master this book should be useful!

And lastly I bought this fabric on ebay. Its a satiny polyester (a little bit slippery but I have sewn with slippery fabrics before) which I plan to use for a cute a-line skirt. I did buy 2 metres of it so I should have enough to make other stuff out if it too. I just have no idea what at this stage!

And this is the pizza we made for dinner last night only I forgot to take a photo after it had been cooked! Needless to say H made the dough at the bakery and I prepared the toppings. It tasted better than any pizza we've had recently! I used some shaved hot sopresa salami, tomato paste infused with garlic and herbs, a spanish onion, mushrooms, red capsicum, light grated tasty (cheddar) cheese and a sprinkling of mixed herbs! H also put dried chilli flakes on his half! I had two pieces for lunch today and it tasted great still! It took all of 10 minutes to cook. Yummy!

And this weekend I was hoping to get stuck into some creating but I instead have two pairs of tracksuit pants of my dad's to shorten and three pairs of work pants for H to shorten plus visiting mum and dad and my brother and his family, a little bit of uni work, a shift at the bakery and cleaning the house! Just my luck that I have a short father and boyfriend! Not that I can talk - I have never been able to buy full length pants/jeans that didn't need shortening and three quarter pants are ankle length on me :(

Here are some new fabrics I recently got. Hopefully I can make some stuff this weekend and start getting through them otherwise all I will have are piles of fabrics and nothing else!

I also got some lovely midwale chocolate coloured cordurouy and some bright yellow broadcloth cotton for lining.
Now I just have to find some time to create. A big experiment I had planned for Wednesday this week which was due to finish on Friday (today) got stuffed up because of other people's incompetence so I didn't get to start it until Thursday which means I will be in at uni for most of the day Saturday. Having people over Saturday night which means I have to get the house spic and also working at the bakery all day Sunday! Phew! But H is going to Melbourne for a night next week and also heading out with his mates one night of the weekend so there are two evenings coming up where I have the place to myself and can spread all my fabrics around and get inspired :)
